Markulin Makes Gains

Despite being forced to qualify for the recent Australian AMCA Nationals Title-deciding feature race via the B main, Peter Markulin certainly proved that he was up to the challenge after coming away with a satisfying top-10 finish.

In what was his sixth Australian Title attempt, Markulin well and truly beat the odds to achieve his best result yet, with his previous best result being ninth place in the 2014 running of the event at Carrick Speedway in Tasmania, but he certainly didn’t do it the easy way.

Moore Title Success in Victoria

In Saturday night’s Victorian AMCA Nationals Title at Swan Hill’s Sonic Speedway, it was newly-crowned Australian Champion Jeremy Moore who once again earned his champion status after taking out top feature-race honours.

Strongly resembling the early stages of the Australian Title feature race just one week prior, where the Victorian duo of Mathew Mills and Jamie Collins, along with Moore (SA), led the field before Moore came away with the victory, the Victorian Title-deciding feature race once again saw the trio heading up the pack; however, on this occasion, Moore didn’t have to wait until mid-race distance to take the lead.

Sullivan’s Aussie Title Surprise

Exceeding even his own expectations in the recent Australian AMCA Nationals Title at Ballarat’s Redline Raceway, Paul Sullivan couldn’t have been happier to come away with a somewhat surprising podium result.

Having had a fairly quiet start to the 2017-18 season, off the back of a similarly quiet off season with little car preparation completed, Sullivan certainly didn’t expect to be standing on the Australian Title podium after the recent running of the event, with his runner-up finish delivering him with a new career highlight.

Moore Scores Title # 2

After recently winning the Australian AMCA Nationals Title, newly-crowned champion Jeremy Moore thought his 2017-18 season couldn’t have gotten any better, until he won last Saturday night’s Victorian Title at Swan Hill’s Sonic Speedway.

With the thrill of his recent career highlight having not yet fully sunk in, Moore did not weigh himself down with added pressure or expectations heading into the Victorian Title, particularly after a huge week of work prior to the event left him with little time to prepare his car. However, this proved to be no issue for the Kybybolite, SA-based racer.

Moore Scores Australian Title Upset

With drivers pushed to their limits in last weekend’s Australian AMCA Nationals Title at Redline Raceway in what were extremely hot and humid conditions, it was Jeremy Moore who upset the form guide and came away with the Australia # 1 honours.

Forced to complete four heat races each prior to their mains on Saturday afternoon at the Ballarat, Victoria-based track, with Friday night’s schedule being postponed due to rain, drivers were well and truly spent at the completion of the Australian Title-deciding feature race, but none more so than newly-crowned champion Moore (SA), who gave everything he had in his quest for Australian Title glory.

Moore’s Australian Title Glory

To say that Jeremy Moore exceeded expectations in last weekend’s Australian AMCA Nationals Title at Ballarat’s Redline Raceway would be a huge understatement, after he clinched the national crown in just his third season with the class.

Having previously travelled to Kalgoorlie International Speedway in Western Australia to contest last season’s Australian Title, where he came away with a pleasing eighth-place result after sustaining damage to his car during his heat races, Moore went into this season’s running of the event with the goal of repeating his top-10 feature-race finish.

Aussie Title Heartbreak for Mills

In what was a rollercoaster of emotions, Matt Mills won many new fans in Saturday night’s Australian AMCA Nationals Title at Ballarat’s Redline Raceway, which saw him charge into the lead and pull away from the chasing pack in the all-important feature race, before experiencing a heartbreaking DNF.

Having qualified on the inside of the second row for the feature race, Mills moved his 253-powered Mills Brothers Racing Vic # 20 machine into second place on the opening lap, before pulling off a slick move on the inside of current Victorian Champion Jamie Collins to take over the lead only a few laps later.

Drivers Converge for Australian Title

A truly national field of drivers are preparing for battle this Friday and Saturday night at Ballarat’s Redline Raceway in Victoria, where they will compete for top honours in the 2017-18 season Australian AMCA Nationals Title.

Despite a lack of track time this season, defending Australian Champion and current Western Australian Champion Tim Reidy will be one of the strong favourites heading into the event, having achieved a momentous victory in last season’s title at Kalgoorlie International Speedway in Western Australia after eight previous unsuccessful attempts.
