Hardy Scores NSW Title Crown

Amongst a stout 30-car plus field, it was Matt Hardy who took out the top honours in last Saturday night’s NSW AMCA Nationals Title at Gilgandra Speedway.

With no shortage of talent in the feature-race field, the current Australian and Queensland Champion made the most of his front row starting position alongside pole-sitter and past NSW Champion Tim Reidy (Vic), keeping within striking distance of the race leader, before being elevated to first place when Reidy suffered suspension damage, ultimately dropping back to seventh place, due to his ailing car.

Collins Crowned Victorian Champion

In what was a race of attrition, which saw numerous restarts, it was Jamie Collins who managed to outlast his rivals to take top honours in last Saturday night’s Victorian AMCA Nationals Title at Ballarat’s Redline Raceway.

As the highest point scorer for the night, the Geelong-based racer started the 30-lap feature race from pole position alongside Tony Blanch (NSW). Despite his best efforts, Blanch was unable to make a move on the race leader, with Collins going flag-to-flag in what was a somewhat disjointed race to claim the Victorian Title crown.

With five race meetings already under her belt in the 2016-17 season, Knight has proved that she can get amongst her rivals, coming away with a career-best result earlier this month, when she finished just off the podium in fourth in a feature race at her home track: Archerfield Speedway.

Reidy Runs Riot at Redline

Tim Reidy took an emphatic feature-race win at Redline Raceway on Saturday night, in what was the first round of the 2016-17 AMCA Nationals Barry Reidy Memorial Series.

Reidy, based in Darwin, flew in and claimed the win in the event, named in honour of his grandfather, after starting down in 12th place on the grid. Second home was the in-form Dean Heseltine, who put in a strong performance to chalk up another feature-race pole position and his fourth feature-race podium finish in a row. Heseltine led the way for much of the feature race before Reidy, who made quick work of moving through the field, executed his move for the lead.
