Reidy’s Road to National Glory

Though it’s been a long and turbulent journey towards achieving his long-awaited ambition of winning an Australian AMCA Nationals Championship, it was all made worthwhile last weekend, when Tim Reidy claimed a well-deserved victory at Kalgoorlie International Speedway.

Claiming the chequered flag after a stellar performance in the two-night event, Reidy was filled with an equal wave of joy and relief, with his quest for Australian Championship Glory having certainly not been easy, beginning with his first three attempts in the event from 2009 to 2011 at Mildura’s Timmis Speedway (Vic), Murray Bridge Speedway (SA) and Dubbo’s Morris Park Speedway (NSW) failing to produce his desired results.

Twice As Nice for Reidy

Newly-crowned Australian Champion Tim Reidy further cemented his status as the country’s leading driver on Friday night, taking out the Western Australian AMCA Nationals Title at Esperance Speedway.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Australian Champion.

David Boyes couldn’t have been happier to finish third in last weekend’s Australian AMCA Nationals Championship at his home track – Kalgoorlie International Speedway – becoming the first ever Western Australian-based racer to score a podium result in the event.

Reidy Ends Australian Championship Drought

After a decade of trying, Tim Reidy finally broke through last weekend, delivering a faultless performance to win the 2017 Australian AMCA Nationals Championship at Kalgoorlie International Speedway in Western Australia.

Having finished runner-up in the past two Australian Championship events at Lismore Speedway (NSW) and Murray Bridge Speedway (SA), the Victorian-based racer was a dominant force from the outset, qualifying pole for the feature race, by virtue of winning each of his three heat races on the opening night of competition and finishing fourth in his remaining heat race on Sunday night.
